Blue team — hardening

The pentest finds. We fix it.

An audit report that stays in a drawer protects no one. We apply the fixes to your infrastructure, and we verify they hold.

  • Hardening according to CIS benchmarks: SSH, firewall, exposed services, permissions
  • Correction of critical misconfigurations, not just reporting them
  • Search for backdoors and forgotten accounts
  • Post-mission support and update procedure left with the teams

Why harden

Most intrusions exploit no vulnerabilities

They occur through default configurations, forgotten services, or accounts that should not exist.

  • An administration port open to the internet, a default password, an accessible database interface: these are the most common entry points, and none are software vulnerabilities.
  • Overly broad permissions turn a minor compromise into a total one: a service account that can read everything gives everything to whoever steals it.
  • An unpatched server will always eventually encounter a public exploit. The time between a patch release and its mass exploitation is measured in days.
  • Hardening is the natural complement to auditing: one lists what's wrong, the other fixes it.

All modifications are carried out within an approved window, with the possibility of rollback at each step.

Process

From assessment to handover

We document changes and provide you with the means to maintain them.

01

Assessment

Inventory of exposed services, accounts, permissions, and update levels. Gap measured against CIS benchmarks.

02

Plan and Window

List of changes by risk order, validated with you, and intervention window agreed in writing.

03

Hardening

Patch application: SSH, firewall, closing unused services, permissions, logging, verified backups.

04

Verification and Transfer

Post-intervention check, documentation of changes, and maintenance procedure for your teams.

Example Report

What a professional audit looks like

Anonymized example: executive summary, consolidated score, and priorities for your IT department or integrator.

  • Executive summary and risk score on one page
  • Prioritized findings with concrete remediation steps
  • Internally shareable document (IT, CISO, management)

Excellent experience with White-Hat for a comprehensive security audit of our SaaS platform. The quality of service was truly outstanding: Philippe took the time to understand our application's architecture before starting the tests, which made all the difference to the relevance of the results. The report was detailed, with vulnerabilities categorized by criticality, concrete evidence of exploitability, and recommendations directly applicable by our technical team. The post-delivery follow-up to verify the patches was a real bonus. Professional, rigorous, and attentive: exactly what you need to secure a SaaS product.

Pedagogy: translating technical details into business decisions (prioritization, budget, planning).

Frequently Asked Questions

What we tell you before you ask

Will there be service interruption?

Rarely, and never without agreement. Changes requiring a restart are grouped into a pre-agreed window, with a rollback plan prepared.

What environments do you work on?

Linux servers, VPS, Docker containers, and the web applications running on them. For Windows Server or Active Directory, we'll specify this during scoping.

Do you need root access?

Named, temporary administrator access, revoked at the end of the mission. All actions are logged and included in the report.

And after, how long does it last?

The hardening lasts as long as the configuration doesn't drift. We provide the maintenance procedure; a six-month follow-up audit is offered, not imposed.
